IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Health Innovations in Point of Care Technology (IEEE HI-POCT) is the premier conference in the areas of Health innovations in point-of-care technologies. In its eighth year, this IEEE EMB Strategic Conference will emphasize funding opportunities and the promise and pitfalls of the journey from idea to patient. The conference will provide a strategic forum in which clinicians, industry experts, innovation experts, researchers, and students will examine how to define unmet clinical needs and successfully travel along the innovation cycle toward commercialization and patient impact. Clinical, technological, regulatory, and marketing aspects of this learnable process will be stressed. Expert panels will discuss learnings in the development, translation, and commercialization of technologies and challenges in bringing medical care innovation to community health. The conference will be co-located with the IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Body Sensor Networks – Sensors and Systems for Digital Health (IEEE BSN) in Boston.

Importance: IEEE HI-POCT 2023 will accept 4-page conference Full Papers, 1-page Conference Abstracts for poster presentation, and 1-page Prototype Demonstration Abstracts. Excellent papers (e.g., Best Paper Award candidates) will be invited to present in a special session at the conference and extend their works for rapid review and publication in several partnering journals, such as IEEE Open Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology, PLOS Digital Health, Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes, and Frontiers in Digital Health. See Call for Papers for more details.

Keynote talks and panel discussions with leaders and stakeholders will address clinical needs, mastering the process of innovation, funding, and individual networking opportunities. In addition, a limited number of poster presentations will be included in the final program.

Who Should Attend: All researchers, clinicians, and students engaged in scientific and clinical research related to the development and commercialization of healthcare applications are invited to attend. All stakeholders in healthcare innovations, delivery, maintenance, services, and management are specifically encouraged to participate in the conference. Industries and businesses dealing with healthcare products, devices, pharma, and payers, along with life-sciences-related sponsoring agencies and foundations, are welcome to participate in the collaborative synergy addressing the future of healthcare innovations and point-of-care technologies in medicine.
